Yes, we are a proudly Canadian company. Our books are written, illustrated, and printed in Canada. While not all of our stock images are taken by Canadian photographers, many are, and we strive to feature Canadian locations whenever possible. You’ll find iconic sites such as Niagara Falls and Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy in our books. We also aim to choose general stock images from Canadian locations when we can. For example, in our book on Biking, the image of a bike race in the city was captured in Vancouver, and in Sledding, some of the city pictures were taken in Toronto. We are mindful that our books are also used in the United States, so we avoid using words with regional spelling differences, such as “centre” vs. “center.”

A Single Title Set contains one copy of each title, meaning if the set includes 10 titles, there would be 10 books total — one for each title.

In contrast, a Classroom Set includes 6 copies of each title. For example, a Classroom Set with 10 titles would have 60 books in total — 6 copies of each of the 10 titles. This is ideal for classrooms where multiple students need access to the same book simultaneously.

Additionally, purchasing a Classroom Set is often more cost-effective, as it provides more copies of each title at a lower per-book price compared to buying individual copies or Single Title Sets.

Yes, our books follow a Scope and Sequence. Our Scope and Sequence is organized into 5 categories:

1. Grapheme/Phoneme Correspondence
2. Orthographic Patterns/Generalisations
3. Morphology
4. Punctuation/Text Features
5. High Frequency Words.

Ontario’s Trillium List is a list of textbooks that are approved to be used in Schools in Ontario. This list focuses on “textbooks”, whereas “readers” are considered “supplementary resources”. School boards have the responsibility to approve and choose supplementary resources on their own. (See page 4 of the “Guidelines for Approval of Textbooks” document for definitions, and page 11 for information on the selection of supplementary resources.)

All of our sets include 10 different titles (e.g., Yellow Square includes Nat Sat, A Big Bug!, In the Bin, The Pup, Huck, In the Bag, Kick!, Mud!, Fox in the Sun, and Kit, the Cat). Those 10 titles are shrink-wrapped by our printer, and then sent to us at our warehouse to distribute.

Here are some examples of what your purchase might look like:

• if you order a Single Title Set – Yellow Square, you will receive one shrink-wrapped set of books that includes all 10 titles in the Yellow Square Set (as listed above)
• if you order a Classroom Set – Yellow Square, you will receive 6 shrink-wrapped sets of books, each one containing all 10 titles in the Yellow Square Set (you will end up with 6 copies of all 10 titles in the Yellow Square Set)

It is essential for students to have multiple opportunities to practice each literacy concept. We currently have 2 book sets in both the Yellow and Green Series. Our goal is to write at least 2 sets of books for each colour in our Scope and Sequence.

We will also be writing a set of DECK-odable cards for each Series. Our Yellow DECK-odables are currently available, and our Green DECK-odables are in development.

Yes, we do accept purchase orders! If you’d like to place an order using a purchase order, here’s how to proceed:

How to Place an Order with a Purchase Order:
Email your Purchase Order to sales@syllasense.com.

Please include the following details:

• Billing Address: The address associated with the payment method or the account used for invoicing.
• Shipping Address: The address where the order should be delivered.
• Order Details: The items and quantities you wish to purchase.

Email Address for Invoicing:
We send all of our invoices electronically. To ensure our invoice reaches the correct person or department, please include the Accounts Payable email address or another email where the invoice can be sent directly for processing within our net 30 payment terms.

Order Confirmation & Shipping:
After we receive your purchase order, we will:

• Aim to ship your order within 24 hours of receiving the purchase order.
• Send you an invoice once your books have shipped.

Yes, we offer tiered pricing to help reduce the cost per book as you purchase more:

• 1 Series (10 titles): $5.25 per book
• Full Series Bundle Single Title Set (70 books): $4.42 per book
• Full Series Bundle Classroom Set (420 books): $4.02 per book

Additionally, we offer further discounts for larger bulk purchases:

• 5 or more Full Series Bundle Classroom Sets: An additional 5% off, bringing the cost per book to $3.82
• 10 or more Full Series Bundle Classroom Sets: An additional 10% off, bringing the cost per book to $3.62

SyllaSense Return Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your SyllaSense purchase! If, for any reason, you need to return an item, here’s everything you need to know:

1. Eligibility for Returns:

Time Frame: Returns are accepted within 30 days from the date of purchase.
Condition: To qualify for a return, books must be new, unused, and in their original packaging.

Pro Tip: Be sure to keep your packaging until you’re certain you want to keep the product!

2. How to Return Your Books:

• Step 1: Notify Us First
  Email us at sales@syllasense.com to report your return intention. We’ll confirm your request and provide you with further instructions.
• Step 2: Ship the Product
  After we approve your return, mail the books to the following address:

3. Refund Process:
Once we receive your returned books, we’ll process your refund for the cost of the books (minus shipping and a 10% restocking fee).
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 5-7 business days after we receive the return.

4. Damaged or Defective Products:
While our books leave the warehouse in pristine condition, the long journey across trucks, trains, and planes can occasionally lead to minor damage. If your order arrives damaged or defective, we want to make it right!

Contact us immediately at sales@syllasense.com. We’ll send you a prepaid return label for your damaged item and arrange for a replacement set to be shipped to you right away, at no additional cost.

Pro Tip: For a quick resolution, please provide photos of the damaged product when reaching out!
