The following sets contain our Purple Series. The Purple Series is our final series, and it introduces a wider range of affixes and suffixing conventions.
As the texts become more complex and include more multisyllabic words, students need to become mindful of “stress” and “schwa”. The Purple Series has a slightly smaller font size and spacing, which leads to longer passages and a greater selection of words to explore. Many opportunities are provided for students to investigate how affixes carry meaning, and how they affect the overall sense of a base when combined. The series includes stories that are both narrative and non-fiction.
